Step 1 - General
Choose the "New Backup" item in the main menu or use the "New Backup" button in the Tool Bar. A dialog window of a new backup input will appear.
Insert the name of the backup and choose the method of reserve copying from the list.
AlmerBackup supports the following types of backups:
- Simple copy - In this mode AlmerBackup copies all the files from the source folder into the destination folder. AlmerBackup can also divide big files into several small ones while copying to the removable media. In this mode reserve copying into the archive is also available. (*.zip-file)
- Simple Move - In this mode AlmerBackup moves all of the files from the source folder into the destination folder.
- Copy with deleting out of date files - In this mode AlmerBackup copies all the files from the source folder and deletes the files from the destination folder, if they are not found in the source folder.
- Move with deleting out of date files - In this mode AlmerBackup moves all the files from the source folder and deletes the files from the destination folder, if they are not found in the source folder. Warning! This mode is only for experienced users. Use it very carefully.
- Synchronization mode – in this mode AlmerBackup will watch the changing of files in real-time mode and will copy them into the destination folder when they are changed in the source folder.
After choosing the method of work you should choose the source directories for reserve copying.
